Happy New Year ! I hope you all had a safe and fun filled Christmas Holiday. I even saw a motorcycle going down the road on Christmas eve day, (single digit temperature! icy patches and sand on the road etc. Those factors keep me in my warm comfortable car or truck! I guess I'm just a wimp when it comes to riding in the winter months.
A special thank you to Dave and Patti for sending some pictures of the Polar Bear Run held on New Years Day. Checkout the picson the rides & rallies photo page.
After several false starts (due to bad weather) Marv & Jean finally had the Retreads® over for a holiday brunch at thier home in Whitewood. Check out the pictures on the Gallery page. those attending : Denny & Avis T. with vacationing daughter Denae and grandson Malik, Brad & Kris H., Pete & Karin M., Dick R. & Mary W., Gary O., Jerry & Judy B., Noel & Ruth B., Jim & Grace M. The Christmas village display was awsome, along with all the other collectibles displayed. The visiting and talk (for the guys anway) centered around motorcycles and rides.
I missed the November meeting, and we didn't have one in December so I didn't get a chance to pass on a letter from Tim and Billie H. in Wisconsin that I recieved in Nov. They send their best to all in our group.
Pass on our website address to other bikers and have them contact the webmaster if they have any questions or need new membership sign up forms or registration form for 2009 International Retread Rally in Spearfish South Dakota..
Remember that members may advertise their private motorcycles/MC accessories for free in this newsletter, Just e-mail me your add and include one picture if you have one, on or before our monthly meeting on the 3rd Friday of each month. Keep scrolling down this page to see current ads.
Ride on! Ride Safe! Ride Smart!

Why a Retreads® member? by: Pete M.
Thinking about becoming a Retreads® club member, but need some good reasons? I can give you several.
They are Harley, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Ural, BMW, Victory, etc. etc. 2 wheels or 3, it doesn't matter what you ride, how much you ride or how far you ride, it only matters that you Love to Ride!
When Karin and I joined the SD Retreads® we owned a Suzuki 1400 Intruder. There where no Susuki groups in the area, and I don't think we would have fit into a HOG group or a Honda riders group, but in the Retreads we fit in with the others since there was such a diverse group of bikes, and the riders didn't care what you rode, just that you did ride. Some of our members belong to several different motorcycle organizations besides Retreads®.
These other organized groups such as Harley Owners Group, or Honda Riders Group, to mention a few, are truly great organizations, but those of us who change from Suzuki to Kawasaki to Yamaha over the years, never have to change riders groups.
If you still haven't decided to join, you are still welcome to come to a meeting or group ride to check us out, We would be glad to have you visit, talk bikes and ride with us.
