Minutes of the
October 4, 2011 meeting
Rick B. called the meeting to order at 7 pm on Tues, October
4, 2011.
Thirteen members were present.
Ruth gave the treasurer’s report. Checks were received from three sponsors.
A discussion followed regarding contacting Warren Rose. Ruth will do so.
Gary
gave the safety report. He reported
deer-vehicle accidents are down this year; however, this is the time of the
year for deer to be out. Also, he gave a
reminder to winterize your bike.
Ron
reminded riders to watch out for leaves on the pavement as they can make it
slick.
Brad reported the BH Area Bikers ask all bikers that can to
meet at Hardee's on North Haines at 10:15 am on
Saturday, October 08, 2011 in order to visit the four Golden Living Centers in
town. The residents are interested in
seeing all our bikes. The Golden Living
Centers are included in the Christmas for the Forgotten. Brad also reported the American Motorcycle Association
magazine has an article about the Sturgis Rally.
New Business:
Terry made
a motion that we donate $200 to the Christmas for the Forgotten fund. Jerry seconded it. The motion passed. Those who wish to donate on their own may
contact Brad.
Gary moved that we donate
$100 to the traveling basketball team as we did last year. Patti seconded the motion. The motion was defeated.
A
discussion was held regarding the annual Christmas party in January. A committee of Ruth, Ginger and Gary was
formed for finding a location. Members
indicated no more than $25 per meal was the limit.
Ruth, Noel
and Ginger indicated they wish to resign their positions as of the end of this
year.
Ruth will
send a get well card to Mr. Rice at Honda.
