Picnic Sept 2008
The South Dakota Retreads held a picnic on the 13 Sept 08 and ride on 14 Sept 08. This is the group that showed for the picnic. photo by Denae T.
This years picnic was held at Canyon Lake where ducks and geese flew past the pavilion at regular intervals, making for a picture perfect setting once you walked through the #!@%$ duck and goose droppings to get there. photo by Pete M.

PEARL HOEL MEMORIAL COFFEE
The 4th Annual Pearl Hoel Memorial Retread Coffee was held Thursday August 7th, 2008 at the home of Marv & Jean Sneesby in Whitewood. The weather was good and the friendships were even better. Members present were Brad Hovland, Pete & Karin Mueller, Dick Rosander, Jerry Button, Marv & Jean Sneesby. Former members present were Darrell Cade, Harvey & Karen Hoelin, Ed & Marian Woidt. Guests present were Arlie & Janice Peck, Rick & Diane Alpert, Donna Littleton, Jim & Rita Harrison, Lloyd & Carol Kessel. At our next meeting Marv & Jean would like to discuss the possibility of having the gathering later in the day or early evening so more members would be able to attend, since most of them are still in the working force. Any ideas on the subject would be appreciated.

Some of our group members and friends that attended the 2007 Teddy Bear ride for Shriners' Kids. Kris won $100 dollars for best hand at Bad Boys Toys and Pete won $100 for the worst hand. Both donated their winnings back to the Shriners for the Kids fund. All in all a very cool autumn ride, but lots of fun for a worthwhile charity. PETE & KARIN CHASING THE 1880 TRAIN OUTSIDE HILLCITY. If you like old steam locomotives, what better way to see it in motion than from the seat of a motorcycle as you follow it between Hill City and Keystone. The tourists riding the train never fail to wave at the bikers and visa versa. photo by S. Maiwald
1880 TRAIN. This picture was taken several years ago, I knew the engineer, who was a Northwest airlines pilot, who told me it was more fun driving the train than a jet airliner, but then again, so is motorcycling.
