If anyone wants to do a supper run or other ride while our ride coordinator is on vacation, have Ginger contact everyone by e-mail and I'll also post it on the rides and rally page.
Rally time is almost here, Karin and I can't wait to to meet all the bikers coming to our great state of South Dakota for the 2009 International Retreads® rally or the Sturgis rally the following week. For those of you who haven't yet registered, you can download an application form on our rides and rallies page. Don't miss out on all the fun. I'm including a letter I got from Judy Button (our rally guru) right below my column.
Bill Hearne sent the following note: We are having a swap meet, checkout the flyer info on the rides & rallies page of this web site, All of the proceeds for this event will go to the Off Road Rider's Association. Would very much appreciate your efforts in promoting this event. We wish for this to be be an annual event and fundraiser. Get one or two members to man a booth and sell items belonging to the entire club. Split all the money when you are done. Many thanks. Call me with questions or concerns.

Hi Pete,
Here is a little info that you can include in your news letter from the Rally Patrol, AKA Judy & Jerry Rally Patrol.
Thus far we have 231 registrations. (We have had 5 members that have had to cancel do to personal issues. As fellow International Retread members, I ask you to keep these individual in your prayers.)
For those of you that were not able to make the June meeting, we had a sheet for sign-up for times that you would be able to help at the rally.
These are times that we will be needing help, so let me know what you are able to do.
Sunday-12 noon to 4pm Registration
Monday-0830-4pm "
Tuesday-0830-4pm "
Wed-0830-4pm "
Thurs-0830-12pm "
There will be table for General Info for the Hills area.
There will be ?2 tables for ride information.
Registration tables that will need 2 to 3 persons.
If you can only help half a day or even a couple hours, one day, great. Or one whole day. What ever you can help, just let me know. You will be appreciated for what ever you can help with.
Rod would like to relate to all our South Dakota retread members that he looks forward to seeing everyone again, and thanks everyone who has helped at this point and are planning to help at the Rally. "This rally can not happen without all of the great help from the South Dakota Retreads."

Why a Retreads® member? by: Pete M.
Thinking about becoming a Retreads® club member, but need some good reasons? I can give you several.
They are Harley, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Ural, BMW, Victory, etc. etc. 2 wheels or 3, it doesn't matter what you ride, how much you ride or how far you ride, it only matters that you Love to Ride!
When Karin and I joined the SD Retreads® we owned a Suzuki 1400 Intruder. There where no Susuki groups in the area, and I don't think we would have fit into a HOG group or a Honda riders group, but in the Retreads we fit in with the others since there was such a diverse group of bikes, and the riders didn't care what you rode, just that you did ride. Some of our members belong to several different motorcycle organizations besides Retreads®.
These other organized groups such as Harley Owners Group, or Honda Riders Group, to mention a few, are truly great organizations, but those of us who change from Suzuki to Kawasaki to Yamaha over the years, never have to change riders groups.
If you still haven't decided to join, you are still welcome to come to a meeting or group ride to check us out, We would be glad to have you visit, talk bikes and ride with us.
